Near the historic battlefield of Bosworth, in the picturesque Leicestershire village of Sutton Cheney is the rather lovely Hercules Inn. This unusually named former coaching inn retains that good old traditional country pub air thanks, in great part to it’s location on the Ashby canal and in part to an attractive, traditional pub décor. In summer enjoy a cooling pint with your meal on the suntrap terrace or in winter cosy up by the open fire with a large red wine. The british menu is full of fresh local seasonal ingredients and the food is all homemade even down to the breads and chocolate truffles. Try the king scallop ravioli with celeriac mash, spinach and a mussel beurre blanc.
